Wallet No. 9
The 9th wallet. This is the first wallet I've listed in the long road to making a £100 wallet.
It's handmade using genuine* saffiano in aubergine. It's off black in some light, deep purple in other light. It has the famous cross-hatched texture.
*The misconception around the word genuine in this context is that its real, top shelf leather. It is real leather, but this particular saffiano doesn't have the grain layer, the tough skin that makes leather last a life time. This wallet's twin rests in my back pocket, and after a few months of use there are some signs of degradation after a month, just along the spine where the wallet bends. I am not sure how well this item will age, thus the low price, which more or less neglects the hours of labour that went into it. It's more of an experiment, and this wallet should only really be purchased by the masochisticly curious among us, and I'd appreciate the feedback in a year or so as to how its ageing. :)
